About Me

Hey, folks! I'm Candace, owner of BodySpeaks Integrative Massage Therapy. I'd like to share how I ended up here and why I'm more passionate about this work today than I was when I began 15 years ago. I'll rewind way back to where this all began. I was an athlete throughout all of my younger years: a gymnast and cheerleader for most of my formative years turned nationally recognized, world record setting powerlifter in my teen years. Movement and wellness were always at the forefront of my life and a priority of mine. Fast forward to my young adult years where I found myself wandering aimlessly (as most young adults do) and landing in a massage therapy program in early 2008. Within days I realized I'd found what I was meant to be doing. Working with the body and its natural movement in this way seemed to make perfect sense. I graduated in early 2009, sat for the national board exam, and the rest is history.  In addition to massage and bodywork, I've spent well over a decade immersed in studies of integrative wellness, including herbalism and traditional healing systems, movement and dance, and women's health, offering holistic care and education for all stages of a woman's life. I've also found a deep love for teaching and advocating for body literacy as a pathway to reclamation, empowerment, and healing. I honor every individual as a unique embodiment of a lifetime of stories, and I use this approach to create and facilitate sessions which are trauma-informed, client-led, and goal-oriented. It's paramount to me to offer a safe, inclusive, and compassionate space so that a client can get the most from every session. Using years of experience and knowledge, I work alongside clients to help them better show up in their bodies so that they may better show up in their lives. Along with being an LMT, I'm also a yoga teacher, personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, doula, and teacher, raising up new and upcoming bodyworkers.

My heart's work is with my family, my husband, and our four beautiful children.
